TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport
This photograph of the TWA Flight Center was taken in 2014 during a special open house event, prior to the construction of the new TWA Hotel. The original terminal was designed by Eero Saarinen, completed in 1962 (after his death), and served passengers until 2002. It was inoperable for several years, and despite it’s official landmark status, was rarely open to the public during that time. Today the space serves as the lounge for the newly opened hotel, which also comprises two newly constructed building.
