Alan Karchmer has the eye of an architect.ย With a masters degree in Architecture, Karchmer approaches his work with an authoritative sense of space, form, texture, light and use.ย In his photographs, Karchmer hones in on the defining angles that capture the spirit, life and poetry of an architectโs vision.
For more than forty years Karchmerโs photographs have been widely published and included in major museum exhibitions, including a 2021 career retrospective at the National Building Museum in Washington DC.ย Karchmerโs clients include award-winning and renowned architectural firms such as Tadao Ando, Santiago Calatrava, Frank Gehry, David Adjaye, Kieran Timberlake, and many more.
