Douglas House by Richard Meier
Harbor Springs, MI
The Douglas house is a great icon of 20th century modernist architecture, and it was a huge honor for me to have the rare opportunity to photograph it. This photo was taken years before the availability of drones, so the only way to shoot the front of the edifice was from a helicopter. Fortunately, the owner of the house owned one! He personally flew us from Chicago over Lake Michigan to get the shot; we paused for just a minute in front of the house so I could take the photo.
