Balloons Series Quad, Je Ne Suis Pas Seul Sans Toi
(Green Balloons, Orange Balloons, Purple Balloons, Blue Balloons)
2010
Rosales’ Balloon Series translates a witnessed moment of a frantic romance, in full color. This on-going project is a tribute to a Valentine’s Day scene which inspired the interpolation of color and anonymous desire (Balloon Series, Hearts, 2007) and (Balloon Series, Animals 2008). Both bodies of work were featured at Art Basel Miami and Maco CDMX. The series continues with a four color-way set, photographed at one location over a one day (Balloon Series Je Ne Suis Pas Seul Sans Toi, Green Balloons, Orange Balloons, Purple Balloons, Blue Balloons, 2010). This flirtatious chase in color and movement becomes a ritual straddling the worlds of pop fashion and surreal comedy.
