Amy Winehouse I
“I photographed Amy Winehouse in New York City in 2007, for a magazine I was making with some friends at the time called โMISSBEHAVE.โ Amyโwho was already somewhat famous in the UK but just starting to gain notoriety in the USโwas kind, soft spoken and very witty. She didnโt want anyone to touch her hair or makeup; she arrived on set with both done already. I decided on a simple studio portrait setup, and shot entirely on film. I think she looks beautiful in these images.
Our shoot together was short and sweet, but these portraits of Amy are still some of my favorite pictures Iโve ever shot. Whenever Iโm asked who my favorite person was to photograph, I always say โAmy Winehouse.โ”
